Worried about baring your legs this summer?

Here’s some tips on getting ready for summer and look forward to the season of shorts and short skirts.

  1. Moisturize your legs regularly with a moisturizer that you enjoy rubbing in. There are a wide range of scents that smell wonderful and are pleasing to everyone.
  2. Treat yourself to a pedicure at M.C. Spa & Nail Bar before you go on vacation. You’ll be amazed at how different you feel – instead of trying to hide your feet, you’ll feel confident and happy.
  3. Buy yourself some great sandals. Nowadays it’s easy to find some attractive and unusual flipflop style sandals that are really inexpensive. Why not treat yourself to two or three pairs so that you can match them to your favorite outfits?
  4. Whether you wax, cream or epilate your legs – try and make sure that you keep up with your legs, so that there aren’t any stray hairs. Tweeze out any that you miss.
  5. Before you venture out on to the beach, use some oil on your legs to give them that shine and allure that you see on the models. You can use simple olive oil if you like – just rub in a little before you leave home.
  6. Go wild with nail varnish. If you’ve stuck with the same color for years, now is the time to try something different. You may be surprised, such a simple change can make you feel like a new woman. Ask your M.C. Spa & Nail Bar pedicurist to suggest some colors that are fashionable or popular this season.
  7. Choose clothes in colors and styles that suit you – it makes a huge difference to your confidence!

With just a few simple changes, you can be happy with your legs and enjoy showing them off all summer.

Finally, enjoy!

Shrimp Tacos With Pineapples

Prep Time: 30 min. | Cook Time: 20 min. | Makes: 8

  • ½ small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • Pinch of sugar
  • Kosher salt
  • ¼ medium pineapple, peeled, cored, cut lengthwise into spears, then crosswise ½ inch thick (about 2 cups)
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, divided
  • 1¼ pounds shrimp, peeled, deveined
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 8 corn tortillas, warmed
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 jalapeño, very thinly sliced, seeds removed if desired
  • ½ cup cilantro leaves with tender stems
  • Lime wedges (for serving)

  1. Place a rack in the highest position in oven; heat broiler. Toss red onion, lime juice, sugar, and a pinch of salt in a small bowl; set aside.
  2. Toss pineapple and 1 Tbsp. oil on a rimmed baking sheet and arrange in a single layer on half of baking sheet; reserve bowl. Broil pineapple until lightly charred around the edges, 5–8 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, toss shrimp, Sriracha, and remaining 1 Tbsp. oil in reserved bowl until shrimp are evenly coated; season with salt and pepper and toss again.
  4. Remove baking sheet from broiler and use a spatula to turn pineapple pieces over. Arrange shrimp in a single layer on empty half of baking sheet. Broil until shrimp are cooked through on top, about 2 minutes. If your shrimp are opaque and springy to the touch, they’re done. Remove from broiler and turn shrimp (leave pineapple alone). Broil again until shrimp are cooked through, 1–2 minutes. Transfer shrimp and pineapple to a large bowl and season with more salt and pepper.
  5. Drain soaking liquid from onion into bowl with shrimp and pineapple; set onion aside and toss shrimp and pineapple in pickling liquid.
  6. Serve shrimp mixture with tortillas, avocado, jalapeño, cilantro, lime wedges, and reserved pickled onion for making tacos.

“I love coming here to get my manicure and pedicures. The staff are always so friendly, helpful, and most importantly skilled at what they do. I usually get SNS done for my manicure which is the powder dip. They usually last for two weeks for me before I should get them done again. I highly recommend getting your pedicures done here because the staff provide a quick back and neck massage for you then they massage your feet and legs. It’s just that little touch than really makes coming here a relaxing getaway.”
